Amelie von Wedel is the founder of Wedel Art Advisory in 2006, Amelie von Wedel worked for various high-profile institutions and galleries. As a curator, art consultant and gallerist, she organized the first UK exhibitions of Sam Gilliam and Theaster Gates, and many critically acclaimed group exhibitions including Dansaekhwa and Impulse: American Abstract Art in the 70s , as well as performance art commissions. Amelie has lectured extensively around the world on contemporary art and co-edited a book Chinese contemporary art published by Dumont.
Closely engaging with each client’s unique profile, Amelie additionally develops meaningful cultural strategies for institutions and international corporations as well as advising on art strategies for property developments.
In 2009, Amelie co-founded Intelligence Squared Asia with Yana Peel and since 2011 is co-owner and co-chair of Intelligence Squared Group.
Meher Waney is Director of Membership and Business Development at The Arts Club, a position she has held since 2023. In this role, Meher leads her team to execute exceptional experiences for members across the historic private members club located on London’s Dover Street.
She leads with creativity to imagine spaces, events and programming in innovative ways that offer a fresh and exciting private members club experience. Between 2019-2022, she led on the implementation of major refurbishments across the Club’s ground and first floor.
Through the Club’s art programme, she seeks to celebrate artists that are at the beginning of an upward trajectory – from emerging artists to more established names on the cusp of stardom. Exhibitions of note organised under her leadership include Tracy Emin, Theaster Gates, Frank Bowling, Sir Peter Blake, Jordy Kerwick and Etel Adnan.
Prior to joining The Arts Club, Meher played a central role in the opening of Meraki – the contemporary Greek restaurant located in Fitzrovia – in 2017. The restaurant is part of the Waney family’s luxury hospitality portfolio, which also includes Zuma, Roka and Oblix.
